Brake master cylinder brace

Here are some pics of my Cusco master cylinder brace Wes. It helped firm up the pedal feel and increase braking effect under heavy braking.

It varies quite a bit from model to model, but there is a fair bit of flex in the brake master cylinder without one of these fitted.

Not sure but it looks like yours, I will let you know how I get on.

How much are they normally then?

I know there are some knock offs on ebay which look identical, from what i remember reading the material and fit was a bit suspect.

The Cusco one is around £60 delivered from memory

Is it a new genuine Cusco one? If so that is very cheap.

Perhaps I should look into getting some made up.

It'll be one like the item I flogged a bit ago:

They seem to be getting cheaper though if the postage isn't too much. Mine is still sitting in the garage, I suspect I'll flog it and get a Carbing once I finally get around to sorting things out under the bonnet.

The master cylinder brace stops the flex on the bulkhead, thus giving a firmer feel to your brake pedal, does nothing to improve braking at all.

You can test this by getting someone to pump your brake pedal and you can see how far the master cylinder moves forwards.

For what they're worth they are a good mod penny for pound.
