bolarbag
Just want to confirm, is there any markings on the TRD Diffs compared to the elements you are replacing? i.e I have a j-spec 94 6spd, I have the diff casing with the big ears so to speak, I have a TRD Diff with the big ears so its the correct casing e.t.c, but is there no markings to differentiate? Chris Wilson
The casing is irrelevant to to whether it contains an LSD or not. Not QUITE sure what you are asking, to be honest? To see if you have an LSD centre section you really need to pull the back cover off and have a look inside.
suprattgaz
Yep you use the same casing, it's the internals you change. No way of finding out by just looking at it. I thought the same a long time ago when I was buying the TRD diff, only to find the internals arrive in the post. You live and learn.
Nic
If yours is an early model 6spd diff, then it will have either the standard factory fitted or aftermarket LSD inside as there was never an open diff used in this casing. As CW says to know which you have, you'd have to remove the rear cover. Left is an early model 6spd TT diff, on the right is the diff used on all the other Supra models (including the facelift 6spd). http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/2994/supravsoarerex8.jpg View from opposite side http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/5899/supravsoarer2ds2.jpg
