How-To I.D. Supra "Family" Automatic Transmissions *****

Recommended Posts

 The Definitive - Which Auto Box Is What

 Identifying Supra automatic transmissions .......... is not as simple as one(s) might think.

:smartass: Below are details of their external little differences. :slap:

Mr T. doesn't help by titling Supra N/A & T.T. Automatic Transmissions both; "A340E"

Aisin AW - alternative & multi-purposed plate-codes - add to the mystery

For I.D. Mr T originally used yet another set of code numbers on a "fade or fall-off" bar-code sticker & omitted to mention the Aisin AW numbers in his Bible(s)?

Mr T now uses vehicle registration numbers and attachment.php?attachmentid=209825&d=1457191025 computer magic. attachment.php?attachmentid=209841&thumb=1&d=1457258044

Tip: Despite many matching numbers - you need to confirm it has matching flange & socket :slap:

Aristo Auto A340E 30-40LE & Tiptronic A34#E 30-40LS boxes look same as Supra TT, except for Aristo having 3-hole size 'B' donut prop-flange & the Tipronic having a 12 pin solenoid socket.

With some having a  sexy dipstick handle.

Note: 8-pin solenoid socket indicates this 3-hole flange Aristo box is an automatic

Cross-members

The 'boomerang' shaped one at the top part no. 57255-14231 and/or 57255-14231, allows for the additional 18mm length of J3 & U2 bell-housings.

The 'straight' one at bottom, part no. 57255-24060 and/or 57255-24061, pairs with J1 bell-housing on Supra GE & Soarer GTE.

After more than one complete sample sets of code numbers have been collated it will be possible to identify a transmission with them?

The secrets are hidden in this group of the code?

30-40LE 35000 1B240 95E R 00095

Until then, I have explained how to see them in the Real World, without the need for spectacles.

Should I have made any error, or should you have a missing complete plate-code to donate, please contact me and I will edit.

Should you have further information to add, please feel free to do so. :)

:hi: Thank you

The Aisin AW plates are now decoded enough to identify Supra transmissions. :)

For the records, I'll continue to compile the remaining transmission pics & plate-codes, if you have access to either, please don't be shy.

:hi: Thank you.

Despite my considerable yet apparently totally and completely unappreciated efforts to help members ID these boxes, I constantly receive Prisoner Messages with further questions, because of the missing information that I still seek!

This information is in the possession of members who are too F lazy and/or too F ignorant to volunteer this for the benefit of other members.

Ironically, the person's who want-want WANT information, are mostly the same person's who won't-won't WON'T give information!

I have been trying to fill in these final little gaps in the AisinAW code plates information for 3-years now. :looney:

If you can provide any of these final & definitive pieces of information, please do?

Thank you.
