MaRkYbOy72
I have broadband with NTL and have a cable modem with a hard wire to my PC for the broadband connection. My newb question is that if i bought the netgear wireless router from PC world which comes with a free usb wireless card thingy, if i plugged the usb into my ps3 downstairs in the lounge, would i be able to go online down there or would i need to definitely have the cable modem situated down there too? Many thanks ... Mark
jefferson
thought the ps3 was wireless anyway - meaning you wont need anything plugged into it for it to connect to your wireless router - once you have got your router set up your ps3 should find your network automatically
MaRkYbOy72
No the ps3 isnt totally wireless. There needs to be a broadband input of some kind and as the cable modem is situated upstairs in my study I cant have both the internet upstairs and downstairs at the same time
Matt H
Are you sure? i only have my Wii (not PS3) conected to the internet buts thats totally wireless, it just finds my wireless router and job done. I would only presume this would be the same with the PS3? I.e it would have some wireless connection stuff built in. I would be very very suprised if it didnt, considering the Wii does
ivan
Try it with just the wireless router plugged into your modem first. If the PS3 has wireless capability it should connect. And make sure you get the right router - specify that you want to use it with NTL CABLE.
Daston
PS3 has wireless
carl0s
So you need the wireless router for upstairs, but you don't need to add anything to the PS3. You need one of the "broadband routers" as opposed to "broadband MODEM router" or "adsl modem router".

keancy
really?! thats a joke Yes it is but true. We have the 60GB and it's downstairs in the lounge, the internet router is upstairs and we have no probs with getting online with the PS3 at all.
