Have an ongoing case at the moment in excess of 40k in legal fee's etc because 3/2 years ago they caused damage to my property. Anyway, in this time they've told me that i haven't got any rights to park on my driveway as it's a garden and the permit outside means they can park there.. So i called the council who put a "dogbone" in so no one can park there. So that was that little tiff sorted. Now i'm having a garage/summerhouse built at the rear of the garden, all within the limits of not needing planning permission, eg under 3m etc. I've even spoken to them and have an email back saying that i wouldn't need planning permission.... However,,,, It just so happens that someone has called the council as it has been reported that a large structure is being built without notice and they would like to investigate.... I'm guessing some people just like winding others up.... never mind, i'll be seeing them in court shortly and hopefully getting a nice settlement. rant over :-) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That doesn't include all the work that has to be done to repair the damage, or the court costs as yet. Luckily for me i ticked the box that said "legal cover" as an extra when i took out house insurance, otherwise i'd have to rent the missis out at weekends. Anyway, came back to me later in the day to say it's all fine and can't see whay someone complained, however he will write to me and my neighbours. - Neighbours i said....... On the other side, i've got french doors and another 3ft door. The plan is to have a garage/summerhouse with a partition in the middle half way. total cost is £4,800 as a mate's doing it for me. Once built having the floor skimmed and painted red :-) plasterboarded with insulation and rendered the same colour as the house.
