firepool
Thanks guys, I now know a bit more about BOV's, getting there slowly I think I'll stay put with the stock one for now then. Whats a MAF sensor?
Homer
MAF = Mass Air Flow sensor. The UK/Export spec ECU uses it to to adjust fueling to the injectors. The Jspecs have a MAP (Manifold Air Pressure) sensor so do not suffer from the same under-fuel issue when air is dumped out of the intake. Suprash
So what would you do if you had a big 600bhp MAF based Supra, when there is a real need for a atmospheric BOV..........whats the correct way...... And surely the car must be overfueling for like a mili-second, until your back on the excelerator and then the air is being forced back in.......so it over fuels in the time it takes to change gear right ? Most of the supra's at that power level get rid of the MAF since they are well out of their operating range by that stage. Hence the reason for standalone's normally being MAP based. Ah, true I had heard that but forgot, so what are the implications of it over fueling for the mili-second or so that we are talking here........ie damage limitation....... Homer
Overfuel on lift off is a good thing, it's the way all the good mappers set their maps. It's only a problem on MAF based cars with an auto trans, obviously if you have a single it's not a concern since the MAF is dumped.

Im asking for my own situation, so based on twins........so I have nothing to worry about then........
