Tricky-Ricky
If Sky are taking this sort of line, then perhaps its time they made their premiums more realistic for us more mature drivers with good no claims and records.
Scoboblio
I've heard sky's "no new policies for under 30's" about 3 or 4 times now, can we please have a definate answer from our club insurer? Last time Jay said it was all down to individual circumstances, but that's not what we keep hearing from club members!
hoff
Fair point Michael, though i did believe the info was correct as it was a % on my forms rather than an actual number of years but my fault never the less. But i dont have a bad driving record, just one incident. I had touched a car leaving my car parking space a few years ago and failed to stop. Very stupid and nieve. It was caught on cctv and i was given 5 points (min for offence) for leaving the scene of an accident...ie a tiny scratch. I have no complaints as i was in the wrong and i would have been fuming if it was my car. But it hardly classes as a bad driving record though does it. Better get on the blower Did you find the price any better with the move to a UK?

MrHanky
Bigup to the oldies here then :D Its a worry though, both the age restriction and no longer doing agreed value. Perhaps its just for new claims rather than renewals as they would have to change their agreement to us in writing with the changes, surely?? Im with them too...ooh er... Can we get the sky insurance chap on this thread?? Linda x Your not telling me that you are over 30 are you Linda???
Tigger
Did you find the price any better with the move to a UK? Well They just transferred it from the J-spec MR2 No extra charge and this quote is even lower £

Pig
All you have to do is put yourself in Ensign's shoe's. Supra's are costing them alot of money...... its business at the end of the day. Will leave me in the sh1t a bit though as they were the only ones prepared to insure me. edit: AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! caseys
The thread starter isn't a club member. Perhaps there's a pointer for you. I was though and stated it at the start of the call but did me no good! I think Sky are investigating this and will hopefully find this person and have a little head-to-head with a bit of 2x4 with a nail in it.

Dyer864
Currently with club insurer sky, renewal up nxt month, been phoneing around, nothing comes near A-PLAN, they get my vote for club insurer, saying that everyones circumstances and needs are different, so every one will have their prefrances wot insurer is good for them i suppose !! like mods, breakdown cover, payment methods etc, i certainly take that into account

dr_blackman
The thing is i'm sure Jae can insure us on Supra's under the age of 30 as he just said, but it will cost by the sounds of it I aint paying more than last year thats for sure, you wasn't the cheapest but I took you on as you where the club insurer and liked the service I got when I phoned up an extra £50 is nothing for peace of mind! I'll guess i'll find out in Jan
Guest Brazen
i hadn't bought the car at the time of quote (told them if i bought it i would be joining the club and i will tomorrow when i get back from work) apparently this was becasue of the bodykit on my car too. which is a shame as the guy on the phone was saying how good sky was with claims regarding replacing modded parts and not having to have manufacture standards etc. unlike most company's)
Guest Nicholas
Right just called them again and I have a guy called Luke doing me a quote he said all this talk of no insurance for under 30's is rubbish. Sounds like a top bloke so I'll see what he comes back with.
Class One
Sky replace mods with like for like, that's what sold it for me, even though they were a tad more expensive than my previous insurers. Correct me if I'm wrong, but do any of the other insurance companies offer the same?

Guest Nicholas
Right just had a call back and sky will insure me with Ensign insurance fully comp all mods declared with like for like replacement on a single turbo supra. fully comp with protected no claims for £1541. Not too bad really and I think I'll go with that as my insurance is up at the end of the month.

Hi, I'm glad you are happy with the quote, I also hope you are happy with the service you received when you were speaking to us. Would you be able to post up your details... type of Supra, your age, no claims etc so we can show club members we ARE able to insure under thirty year olds on Supras? Many thanks in advance Ollie Sky Insurance
