Mike B
errr no, would never even try it... 295x30 R19..? no chance, although my traction control does have a "snow mode" lol
CardiffSupra
Had to leave mine in the middle of the road 2 years back, No one could get out the street, it stayed there all night. Will never try again.

gannon888
my problem was that i was on a night shift, and no bugger offered me a lift home. i work in the country now so i hope i dont get caught out by the snow this year.

Ian W
drove mine in the snow a good few times. bit hairy sometimes but if you're sensible and take it VERY easy it's do-able imo.
gannon888
my biggest regret i buying a supra in auto, but i was only 21 at the time and the manuals in the same condition as mine were much more expensive.
gannon888
i was taking it as easy as i could out of works car park it just kept going sideways, so i had to dump it.
Ewen
Yes, I have. Didnt intend to, didnt want to but I did. Snow mode (facelift tipronic) worked very well. The ABS worked very well. Considering.

RedM
Got out of our uphill works car-park in the snow. Only went sideways when I made it. I put it down to manu mode and newish tyres. The only scary part was other drivers driving like it was still the middle of summer.

jaymdee
Definately wouldn't even bother trying to drive the Supra in the snow - asking for trouble
wrenlea
I put it down to manu mode and newish tyres. Manu mode is brilliant First attempt in snow was 3 years ago, a few months after I got the Supra. Just touching the throttle was really "interesting" and VERY worrying! After this I discovered the manu button. Using the manu button and just resting yout foot on the throttle actually makes the car move in a straight line, if you use great discipline it is ok. Animal
I've done 2 winters driving around Cumbria in the the snow in my n/a without a problem. As said, manu mode and a VERY gentle foot it's fine. It's the other buggers you've to watch out for...
TrickTT
I got caught out once last year when it snowed overnight and i had to drive home in about 2 inches of fresh snow. LSD kept it straight and rltc managed the power and i got home with no problems. Used the wifes car for the rest of the week:)
hoff
I got my supra last Febuary (1st rear wheel drive car also) and in the first week it snowed hard everyday. I had no choice but to take it out. It took me so long to get anywhere but she was fine. I had reasonable tread on my tyres which were 235/45/17 on the rear and 215/45/17 up front. This year though I have 265/30/19 on the rears and 235/35/19 up front so im not looking forward to it this year. Just be very carefull on the accelorator, and hope it doesn't kick down. I spent my first week of ownership praying for that.
Pixelfill
I attempted it (only slush not real snow) - it was a big mistake didn't even get off my drive, the car was squirming all over the place turning the slush to black ice, I went into the fence almost immediately, fortunately no damage. Next attempt I went sideways down the drive and parked it in the gate post, couldn't get out of the car door and the gate was wedged in the rear wheel, I left a big gouge in the wheel spoke (60 quid refurb) and scratched the rear fender quite badly. I'll not be attempting that again in a hurry. The stock traction control was less than useless. The wheels were spinning for fun even in 2nd in manu mode. You have absolutely no control of the wheels like you would in a manual using clutch control. Very scary I didn't enjoy it one bit. Mike
hoff
I dont have TC. Would it not make any real differance then?
Pixelfill
Adam, The stock TC is pants - it is far too late for snow spinning - just trying to move off as I said it was turning the ground to ice. RLTC should be much better from what I've read. maybe time for a trader to organise a group buy before the bad weather kicks in. Mike
hoff
Not a bad idea Mike. I may put the narrower tyres back come the very bad weather.
