lexsum
v5 to change registered keeper. plus it should have an MOT beyond this is a matter of judgement eg receipts, service book, invoice, road tax(?) etc. (good idea to check person selling the car owns it and also you should probably hand write a receipt/invoice for money/sale.) Edit: just noticed you are not in UK - you will need to check your local rules on imports. the V5 form is a booklet A4 in size blue in colour which is issued by the DVLA and has a section to be filled in when a car is being permanently exported. The V5 is not a document which guarantees the named person has TITLE to sell the car just that they are the "keeper" and in 99.99% of cases it is not an issue because the owner and keeper are the same person but it can happen that a person has their name on the V5 but is not the owner. That is why i said to check this out. Once you buy the car normally if you were in the UK the seller fills out your details on form, you both sign it with date car changes hands and the seller posts page 1 to the DVLA in the UK and the buyer keeps a small green section to confirm they are the new keeper, should the other part be lost. In your case you or the seller will have to tell the DVLA the car is being exported and fill in the purple (i think) section and send that to DVLA with date car exported so they can remove it from the UK database. Hope that is clear. Also all cars in UK over 3 years old must have an MOT certificate to drive on UK roads and this lasts a maximum of 1 year. Finally tha car must be taxed and have a tax disc displayed in its window to drive in UK. You don't need an MOT or tax if the car is being transported, say on a truck, but an MOT is a minimum check the car is in road worthy condition so it should have one or be suspicious why it doesn't. Hope this is of a bit more help.
