Epic
Last night i was out in the supra just cruising, and was fine, today i go to drive it and its trying to idle at around 400-500rpm, bouncing between the two like on the edge of stalling it self! (This is an auto) When you drive it fine, but when u stop at a junction or generaly stop the car vibrates coz the rev are so low.. Im thinkin idle control valve, but not sure if you have had any problems like this in the past Only had the car a few days been looking after it, i dont want any problems
osso
Could be a number of things, might help if you list the mods your car has... when were your spark plugs last changed? do you have an aftermarket fuel regulator?
Epic
Cars Totaly standard, its Daves old car. Sparks couldnt have been changed that long ago either...
Matt _Aero top_
Would checking for error codes help ?
hoff
Is your an auto? Mine does this occasionally. Check the error codes 1st I would say. I didnt bother though to be honest, it just happens now and again.
Cadburys Purple
Mine does this now and again also! Mine's a manual, but I've heard it could be the O2 sensors???
hoff
That was one of the suggestions made to me Geth. Probably worth putting them in some Lemon juice before buying some and see if it helps. Im lazy though so will just buy some;)
Matt _Aero top_
Does this lemon juice thing really work ?
hoff
Apparently. Probably something to do with its acidic qualities being able to shift the muck that gets on them. People suggest leaving them soaking for 12 to 24 hours.
Matt _Aero top_
maybe worth a try then ,if it works its a free fix as o2 sensors are abit pricey if i remember
hoff
Nic does them in a group buy, £75 each. Normally about £100 each.

carl0s
My old UK car did this occasionally, and my new J-Spec car has done it maybe once or twice up to now. I think I just stuck the A/C on when it was doing it. I had presumed it was to do with me fitting colder plugs or something (for BPU).

It only started with mine when changing to colder plugs, it did cross my mind it may have been that. Next time I'll try putting the AC on too:)

hoff
Mine did a few times. Not just when sitting at junctions, when slowing down to stop also. Quite dangerous. Do each of the things mentioned in the thread, and also do a search for other suggestions.
