Elliot
Hey all I bought my first TT around a month ago & want to put it in for service to get it ship-shape! No doubt they'll find loads wrong with it which will cost me an arm and a leg, but I suppose if it's got to be done, it's got to be done! Right....what should I get done? Shall I just ask them to check it over, or what? Any suggestions? ie Oil change? If you do come up with any ideas, can you please post the prices as well? The car's got 84,000 miles on it. Supposedly the oil's been changed every 4000 miles (valvoline) Finally, I've used Toyoda Tech in the past & have been happy with their work. Is there anywhere else in the Hampshire area (or surrounding area?)
Pete
I wouldn't trust my local Toyota dealers. Too expensive, they don't know what they're doing with it, heard stories of them thrashing about in customer cars, don't like imports, etc. etc. Personally I prefer to find someone who is a specialist with this sort of kit (Like our resident suppliers. Your money will be better spent and the advice more sound. Main dealers have only ever ripped me off. Find out the servicing schdule for the TT and double check that. There's stacks of things in there you'd easily forget. If you have no history then at least the following should be considered: 1) Fluid change of engine, gearbox, diff, brakes 2) Fuel filter 3) Plugs 4) Cam belt? 5) Aircon checkup? 6) Wheel alignment check / balancing? 7) Definately check water/anti freeze for this time of year. Flush? As an indication I had all but brake / transmission fluid done recently for 550 quid done by someone I could trust. This is all stuff which should have been done by your kind of miles. Elliot
Nice one. There was a stack of history with the car but I left it in his house when I bought the car (too excited to get in and start driving!) He's sending it down, as I reminded him last night but I do want to get everything checked out anyway so I don't make anything worse.
