Nic
can anyone tell me whats the difference between jap brakes and uk brakes?? Referring to them as UK and J-spec brakes is a bit confusing, as many of the J-spec cars also came with the larger spec brakes as standard. Smaller spec brakes 2 pot front calipers - 296mm diameter discs 1 pot rear calipers - 307mm diameter discs Larger spec brakes 4 pot front calipers - 323mm diameter discs 2 pot rear calipers - 324mm diameter discs Pics of the larger spec calipers here: http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=98436

Man i'm going to have to start going for quality over quantity i think
jacko
So it's possible to have a J-spec car that was fitted with "uk spec" size brakes from new?
bolarbag
Yes it was an option from 94 I think, and they came with the facelift cars if I'm not mistaken You can easily tell by the fact the bigger calipers have cooling fin things(doubt they actually are cooling fins) facing at a 45degree angle outwards The j-specs are just flat and smaller

RedM
So it's possible to have a J-spec car that was fitted with "uk spec" size brakes from new? Yeah. My old one had a 'sport' pack or something. UK sized brakes, Yellow Bilsteins and a Limited Slip Diff, although I don't know if the diff was part of the pack.
