hi can anyone offer their assistance,

my rear brake pads are knackered and i am looking into buying red stuff ebc pads, problem is for the jap specs they offer 2 different sizes these are:

EBC Brake pads Toyota Supra (Not Uk) 3.0 Twin Turbo 17 EBC Redstuff Pads - Rear

EBC Brake pads Toyota Supra (Not Uk) 3.0 Twin Turbo 16 EBC Redstuff Pads - Rear

Does anyone know what the 16 and 17 refers to and which ones i would need? my car is a 1996 model (not facelift).

cheers

I can't answer your question, but recommend you do not use EBC red's (or especially) greens. I found the performance of both of these extremely poor on the smaller jspec brakes. Both took a very long time to get up to temp (meaning very poor braking when cold), and then faded quickly. The Greens I had caught fire after a hard run once. I binned both sets after less than 1000 miles. Leave EBC's to the Nova boys.

Chris Wilson fast road pads completely transformed the braking performance, in all conditions. They do eat the discs a little more but I see discs as equally consumables as pads. Endless pads are also highly recommended by a quite a few on here.
