Steve
If you want to keep the twin setup and dont want crazy power. I would say the best thing would be to get some Hybrids. Envy would probably be your closest trader to get these from/fitted.
Steviekid
I want to stay with the twin setup looking at Hybrids or maybe garret, hks, or along those lines, If you're not wanting silly power then I'd go for Hybrids. They'll be a lot easier to fuel properly and considerably cheaper overall to install. Almost all aftermarket twins run in parallel and create massive power so you'd be better off with a smaller single than going down that route, as there'll be less lag anyway. Steviekid
Envy would probably be your closest trader to get these from/fitted. There's a couple of places up here I'd trust to fit hybrids. Marc at the garage in Wishaw has a lot of experience with Supras and with mapping using the emanage if that was used.

Not living up there i wouldnt know, so just said of the club traders in that area.
Stevie Boy
A small amount of oil expelled from BOV is not terminal for your tubbies, oil vapour breathed from crankcase and such makes it's way back to the intake via the PCV so this can seen collecting around BOV atmoshpere outlet. I suggest clean up area periodically with some aerosol brake cleaner. Is your car UK (i.e Steel turbine) or Jap Spec (i.e Ceramic turbine)? AFAIK reconditioning of Steel turbines is not completely frowned upon all though some guy's would question how reliable they'll be over a new set from Toyota If your Jap Spec with the Ceramic turbines it's bit more complicated issue......... ..............please don't get some of the grumpy resident experienced dudes on here started on reconditioning ceramic turbo's, hybrids and why they're such a bad idea you'll never here the end of it! Better of doing some searching using the search function in the top bar topics been covered a few times!
nige
Thanks guys,J-Spec turbos, my mate reckons I need a catch can its not exsesive oil but a bit more than usual what are turbo tecnics lik? or would i be better speaking to Gaz.
Nic
Nige, Garrett, HKS, etc. don't make turbos that replace the stock ones. If you want to stick with the sequential system, you're options are to replace with new OEM J-spec turbos, fit second hand J-spec turbos or fit hybrid turbos (ie, rebuilt J-spec turbos). TLicense
Just to re-iterate what has been said, it's normal for some oil to be expelled from a open to atmosphere BOV. Can you take a pic of the oil quantity you're getting? Is it just a splattering, or is it a significant volume?
fishman
lui's build thread may be of interest to you as he is having his replaced with hybrids......
nige
Took her out today not any worse, I wiped a little spray of where the circle is and took the intercooler pipe of where the cross is and reved it hard there was a very tiny insignificant amount of oil on the cloth. Sheefa
I think you're worrying too much Nige. Perhaps fit an oil catch tank (not sure if that'll do the trick). I would wait until you start seeing blue smoke and the tubbie oil seals begin to show signs of leakage before worrying about replacing them mate. edge
I had this once just after a big cloud of blue smoke came out of the exhaust, cleaned the ssqv and area it splatted. Then i thought it was definatly tubbie no2 but no it was a few old small boost pipes that needed changing. Fingers crossed all has been well. Have seen that oil splatter from the bov on a few supras and they all run fine.
nige
Yeh your probably right I tend to worry when it comes to my sup,but its a good excuse to tell the wife my turbo's a fecked and get some hybrids.
TLicense
That's perfectly normal. Nothing to worry about at all. If there was a big pool of oil, then yes there could be something to be concerned with, but that is absolutely fine. A little bit of a pain, as you need to keep cleaning it, but fine. You won't be able to fix it with a catch can, as the oil is air-bourne, and being carried out with the air exiting the BOV. The only way to stop it is to fit a recirculating BOV, but then you'll loose the "SSSSPIIISSSSHHH" noise, and seeing as you've just fitted this one, I imagine you'll not want to have to take it off and buy / fit another. Honestly though, it's not a problem.
