Facelift ss dials anyone?

Recommended Posts

Following some request for facelift stainless steel dials, I would like to find out, how many people would be fancy those, mirror polished with blue background and red rev. State if you are auto or manual guy. Of course there will be test set first fitted to some facelift Supra to check if everything is fine, after that I will start to gather money and place order. Last dispatch of pre-facelift was looking like on pics. Please add yourself on list if you are interested. Looking for minimum 15 interested people. Unfortunatelly I will be able to make dials only for non VVti cars as example set of dials i took for measures is from non VVti model. Although I belive manual VVti dials are exactly the same like non VVti, so I can do those too.

Ah and price... It will be 38,50 british pounds per set including p&p and paypal charge.

This is only for information purpose - I will of course ask Mawby for permission to organize this sale.

You've got a few choices on 'facelift' dial layouts.

Auto non VVTis have the same layout on the tacho for the little lights telling you which gear you're in. VVTis have the cut out for the digital display on the tacho.

Obviously manuals have neither.

Also facelift non turbos have a battery indicator rather than boost gauge.

:)

Oh... Now you got me confused. I thought difference is only like in prefacelift - auto / TT.

I was basing my project on this pictures. So basicly those 2 pictures shows auto/manual TT non VVti and those I can make, as I got example set for non VVti models :(

How much different is battery indicator from boost gauge? Do you have any pictures? Also - manual VVTi and non VVTi have same dials if I got right?

  • 4 weeks later...

Only 3 people are fancy facelift one, so there is no point to pay for project right now. I will send back Gav's dials. If I will get my hands on VVTi and non-VVTi original dials and will have around 15-20 people interested in changing to ss I can do it.

@Elmo

I have one set for auto pre-facelift left if you are interested. Can get more, as Jola is now in Poland and company, which is doing them have machine programmed.

Do you have to remove the needles to fit the dials?

Yes, but it is not that scary as you would think so :) Putting them back is also easy, only speedo one will need some assistance of GPS or someone driving in front of you with steady speed :)
