grahamc
just found this one, in an oldish thread http://www.do-luck.com/img/catalog/DOLUCK2_1.jpg I wonder what price sumo power is selling them?
Gruggs
looking for a proper cage. The other option is to get one custom made for the car and welded in but i was looking to see if i could get a bolt in cage that would do the job. Can pick up the cusco 6pt for £616 from the UK distributer. Cheers G
grahamc
what does the cusco one look like?? Do these sorts of cages help at all, or are the only for show?? As I really like the look of the do-luck one...
Gruggs
I think the cusco one is less showy - especially if its a front and rear cage. The rear only cages dont really do anything. With mine being an aerotop i really need to connect the front and rear to stop the flex so might have to be welded in cage G
grahamc
An aerotop in Scotland, is there a point to that??? I have been thinking about full cage, but just think its a bit too much...

Chris Wilson
No such thing as a "proper" bolt in cage, even bolt in ones need reinforcement plates welding in to gusset the thin floor panels to the sills. AFAIK there is no off the shelf weld in, or bolt in MSA approved cage for either the MKIV Supra or the R32 / R33 / R34 Skylines.
Gruggs
yeah i was aware that the plated would need to be welded in to allow a secure bolting point. I think i'm now looking at getting a local scottish guy (Andrew Gallagher) to make me a cage. He's shit hot with them and anything to do with race prep. Just not sure whether a bolt in is good enough or go the whole hog and get it welded in. Cheers G

grahamc
the do luck isnt a cage its not meant to be, its supposed to stiffen up the car, thats all...
Chris Wilson
If you want added safety fro track usage a good bolt in cage is fine, but if you also want to stiffen the shell a weld in is what you need.
bignum
My cusco 6 point should be arriving this week, i can send some picies if you need them, as chris says it wont stiffen your car that much, i`m fitting 1 for the ring trip and i use the car for trackdays more than anything these days.
