What do you think of the Datsun 280zx?

Just a general enquiry as I think I want one, have looked at a few and think it would be a nice project so I can learn a bit more about engines generally. I have spent too much £'s on the supe to let my mechanically inexperienced hands near it.

Was thinking about doing a rebuild on one.

I prefer the 240Z

Even more so if it's like this one:

(But minus the chav stunts)

Yeah fair one I much prefer the 240z myself but was looking for something I could afford and put a few personal touches on.

The 280 is so much cheaper and I would like to change the body styling slightly which would be a crime with the 240. Have a few plans in mind. Is it easy enough to learn on was thinking '79 ish.

That is sweet I was thinking about black my self but don't think I could stretch to that lump. I have seen a v8 cnversion one for sale but can't afford it.

When I was at Japfest a couple of weeks ago there was a 280Z running rings round everything on the track. No idea what engine it had in but it overtook a 500hp R34 GTR on a corner ;)

Gaz.

I've heard of a couple with 1JZ-GTE engines in them.
