In addition to owning a Supra, I am a member of the Tennesse Tubs, a group of Porsche 356 enthusiasts here in middle Tennessee.

Last weekend Cal Turner III hosted a BBQ and beer at his 200 acre farm outside Nashville for a 356 show and a showing of his collecion.

Here's a few pictures of Cal's cars, starting with a paint to sample Carrera GT painted a '50's color from a Speedster.

now i may be wrong, but, is he a bit minted?

Sorry...I don't know what "minted" means, but if it means is he well off, the answer is yes.

He is in the music business here in Nashville, and his grandfather founded Dollar General Corporation, which just got bought out for something like $6.9 billion.

sorry - forgot to ask - whats a "paint to sample Carrera GT"?

For enough money, Porsche will paint your car "paint to sample", which means they will paint match the color of your car to whatever color you want...such as to the color of your eyes, the color of your favorite sports team, to the color of basically anything you want them to. I believe they charge an extra $6000 or more for this service, and it delays the building of the car for 2-3 months, as they have to paint your car individually for this.

Some nice cars there, but i do have to say that i would be more impressed if he had scrimped and saved to buy them, and built/restored them himself.

Thanks for sharing though, and please dont see my comment in a negative light like the other guy in the other thread :)

Looks like an Aston DB4 Zagato

I don't know what Aston Martin his car is, but I ran into Cal a few nights ago at a sushi bar close to my house, and he told me he bought that particular blue Aston at the Pebble Beach Concours two years ago.

Wow, what an amazing line up there... Loving the colour of that paint to sample GT, looks almost primer like...

Just one thing, how come someone with that much money and collection of cars doesn't have a ferarri or a lambo? That would be first on my dream list!!

I Don't like many cars that old, but the Zagoto is a beaut, like the porcshes too.

Do they have a porsche day/weekend in Daytona raceway, as a friend of mine went to one in 2003 im not sure if it was a one off or a yearly event, heres a few pics.
