Lazarus
The stock one - honestly Agreed, but you could chance a replacement panel filter for better breathing, your filtration won,t be as good though. I'm running a HKS panel at the moment, flows air well but the filtration is questionable.
suprafish
ok comments noted, but bearing in mind i intend to create the fastest na on the road! do your recomendations still hold fast?
Whitesupraboy2
I think its been said before that, lower end suffers when putting on a Induction kit, what i would do is do other mods first then, get a induction kit and see if theres a difference, if not sell it on Ebay it may work better in conjunction with other mods
suprafish
ok cool, recomended mods first then? Jasma stailess exhaust straight through, cats removed so far!
Whitesupraboy2
I dont know really, Exhaust De-Cat (like u say u done) Cams TOMS ECU (exspensive i think) Pulleys Custom cold air intake ported & Polished Head iriduim plugs Uprated Plug leads Extra earthing grounding kit electric fans isntead of Viscous Weight saving (rear seats out, spare wheel out, tools out) All would make a difference just the cost of them. That shoudl be enough for you to be going on with!! lol

What you need is laughing gas!!!! (nitous!) Nitrous will give you the biggest (noticable) increase in power per pound spent and if it doesn't put a smile on your face, nothing will! Also you can use your car normally without using any extra fuel when you don't need to!

Insurance companys don't like nitrous.

Im such a dick, i thought to myself ill save that for last!! u know best HP per buck etc... then go and forget it! But you got to remember nitrous power aint there all time only for small periods, and he is after the fastest. So you get the car running fast then go nitrous, if you can find the insurance!! I think if you were lucky all what i said may get you up to 280BHP seeing as mandy is already at 260BHP.
suprafish
spose i best have a chat to mandy, The idea is to try and make 300 brake without forced induction and the use of nitrous. have some ideas alwready, just need a few more ta for your suggestions
dangerous brain
Hope ya have a deep pocket there chap. I went nitrous yes its great no I can't find insurance for it. Also the mods you do power wise will bump your insurance up quite a bit until you are paying considerably more than a TT which is just plain daft:( The parts and labour (even if you do it yourself its costing you when you could be working for money) are going to sting a little. Nitrous actually isn't a very cheap solution either though. The kits cost upwards of £400, the gas is very expensive circa £5-8 a lb and availability seems to be a huge issue for me as my nearest supplier is 60 miles away
Whitesupraboy2
Most of those mods i wouldnt declare as the asseser is not gonna come and strip your engine down looking for cams, earthing strap he wont think performance mod, u just say car went in to be fixed coz of electrical problem and the earth was bad so the ysaid get this. Plugs wont know, Leads wont know. ECU they wont check Exhaust prob only thing need to declare and maybe air intake
Suprash
You know the easiest way to get around all this nitrous and mod declearing issue, get trade insurance, hell you can even drive cars around without no tax, get caught and as long as the car isnt registered to you, its a customer car that you have just picked up....... Of course I only own a Volvo, my best mate now owns a TT
MONKEYmark
theres a guy on supraforums with a mark 3 n/a supra and he his aiming for 300rwhp he has over bored it to 3.5 and is doing lots of work. it is good that you can see how far you can take a n/a. but costs so much for little returns. i once asked about getting head on tt ported and polished and it was £2000 thats fooking crazy money for little gains. you could probably buy a tt engine for that. and on tt why not plonk a bigger turbo on i think weight will kill performance. you imagine your n/a engine in a small car like a starlet and i bet it would fly and shock a few tt supras. the supra is a heavy car to get going, once its up and running it seems to go well. why dont you ask the mods for a supra N/A section as there are a few about now?
