problems with my boost jspec tt

hi

i have a blitz catback and removed the 2nd cat.

today i installed a boost gauge and it only shows 0,7 bar (oem pressure).

i allways thought, the better the flow, the higher the pressure???

or is it because the 1st cat is still in place?

my plan is to decat the 1st cat and fit a 100 cell kat in the place of the 2nd. this should work like a restrictor ring and boost me to 1,2 bar.

what am i doing wrong?? normally i thought i would have at least 1 bar??

its a raid gauge, not the best but most people i know using it said it is ok, pressure was allways correct.

i belive the shown boost pressure, first turbo is 0,5 bar, when the second starts it shows 0,7-0,8 bar.

the car is faster than before, but it feels like maybe 10 or 20 hp to the oem driven

there is no restrictor ring.

after the turbos 1st oem downpipe with oem cat, then 2nd oem downpipe with a 70mm pipe instead of the cat. then blitz spec nür with no silencer. nothing else modified

the car is not really faster than before, so the gauge is not the problem. its only a small kick when the 2nd turbo starts, feels like the gauge shows it. 0,2 bar, not really powerfull and feels like oem boost pressure.

so where can i start my search? maybe my turbos are down??

isnt there a small mode with a t pipe that let the turbos push as much as they can? i dont have any boost controller to test it

aahhhh

youre talking about the silencer in the blitz exhaust!!

no, its removed, there is nothing to stop the flow, only the first cat.

maybe its because i used the original downpipe and just weld a piece of pipe instead of the 2nd cat?

i will test the bleeder t mod to make sure my turbos are fine.

doeas anybody have better pictures for that?

these pictures have a real bad resolution....

ok

i tried the bleeder mod. pressure is the same, nothing happend.

the pressure goes to 0,5 bar, when the 2nd turbo starts it goes shortly to 0,35 bar then 0,7-0,8 bar.

when i run more than 6000rpm then the pressure runs down 0,1 bar sometimes.

i guess the turbos are down?? the car has 75k miles and was absolutly stock when i bought it.

any other ideas??

i just have a china copy hks blow off, directly after the turbos exit (the big rubber pipe that goes from the turbos to the intercooler).

nothing else done. all stock. didnt find any leeks, but to be honest i dont know where to search.

i really go mad!!!!!!!

had the same problem with my vauxhall calibra 4x4 before. fited a k29 turbo and it only made 1,3 bar instead of 1,6.

searched for 1 month, didnt find anything so i sold the car :D :d :D

i cant play the same game with my supra! so any other ideas??

the stock bov is in place. i closed the pipe with a m6 screw.

i allready tried to take the original air pressure pipe and put it on the stock bov, still the same.

i cant remove the chinese blow off because the rubber that goes to the intercooler is cut for fitting the blow off.

i had a plate that i could install instead of the blow off valve but i cant find it.

ive included 2 pics what it should be like, put the red line from the BOV to where the arrow goes,

and in the second pic the pipe you have wants to go back to the VSV (its behind the plug what the arrow is pointing too) its from, or onto the actuator on the turbo, i cant tell from the picture where its from.

Edit, didnt see the HKS bov there,

The pipe where i put the arrow too in the first picture wants to goto your bov.

Then the other needs returning to stock

  • 1 month later...

i found the misstake

the original blow off was broken.

it was opened all the time, found it out while blowing some air through it

i removed it completly, and now i have 0.8-1 bar. the car drives completly different. much faster spooling and it takes 40% less fuel :)

damn, i thought oem toyota parts never break ? :D:d
