The Road Warrior Posted September 15, 2004 Share Posted September 15, 2004 Hi all, Have been getting a loud click or the odd partial turnover on the 1st 4-6 starting attempts, after that starts perfect. Have done some searches and this seems to be a dodgy starter motor. Toyota stock 2 types as follows: 28100-46140-84 1.4kw 213 incl vat & exchange 28100-46150-84 1.2kw 204 incl vat & exchange Not sure which one my car has, it's a J spec manual TT. The garage where I have it booked in said they can order the 1.4kw one but the other one has to be ordered from Japan. Question is will the 1.4kw one work on my car? Or is there a possibility it will only work with the 1.2kw one? Someone also posted that the 1.4kw one is recommended for UK use. I take it that means it will def work on a J spec?
