Starting Problems

Car hasn't been started in like a month i think. Put my new turbo on, did a little tiding here and there and put back everything as it should be. Had to jump it from another car.

The car tries to turn over but doesn't catch. Fuel pressure is fine, i pulled the front coil pack and both have sparks going from the plugs. I can even smell petrol on the plugs. My EManage has it's lights on to say it's ok. Pumps are running, i have petrol. Can't think of what else i should check????

Fuses are all fine, although i havn't checked the footwell ones but don't think there's anything down there that would matter.

The other thing is my car alarm. When i go to turn the alarm on it just beeps at me which is unusall. Im putting this down to the low battery. The imboliser kill's the power to the starter, so not that.

Anything else i've forgotten about??

P.S. I did remove my boost controller while i was doing stuff.

Stick to the alarm as a cause. Don't know what, but it's obvious you know what you're doing. I've had these problems with a car and a bike and the alarm did it all. Take the alarm back up batteries out and see if it helps. New battery otherwise, only way I could keep mine alive. :)

Sure I'll get flamed on this, just waiting..:D

Yeah i think it's alarm related. It's not acting as it used to. But i can't find any installation documents anywhere on the net :(

Only way to go, if you don't know a specialist, is to get one of the travelling alarm guys out and see if he can sort it. 35 quid I'm afraid. Most of 'em are good though.

After last time, I expect you've checked, but are you sure thr crank position sensor plug is in securely? How about the vac pipework to the MAP sesnor? Any error codes?

Triple and quadruple checked the CPS :D Checked one of the cam position sensors, so should do the other. MAP sensor i havn't actually looked at yet.

Have you changed anything after disarming the alarm?

I had this and thought I'd fooked me car, even put a panic post up here..LOL

Thought I'd fried the ecu Ahhhhhhhhhhhh

The onlt thing i have done near the alarm is removing the boost control. I have looked at all the wires down there earlier and there's loads i have taped up, but can't find any installation instructons to see what they do :(

Just went to try the Error codes again and got none :( Was just about to lock up and come in and thought i'd give it a quick turn of the key.... vvVVVRRROOOMMMM!!!!!! It started. let it sit for 5 odd minutes then went for a drive and came back. Turned off the car, played about a bit and then tried to restart, but nothing. So definatly a new battery is needed.

Just been out again to tighten a few bolts and took it for another spin. All sems good :)
