adi2009
I need to make a decision regarding which boost controller to get. I ve been looking at the BLitz SBC-iD 3, HKS EVC 6 and the Blitz SBC-i Color. Any advice and suggestions would be great??? Cheers adi

merckx
Probably not that much of a helpful reply but you've got one two now. I did quite a bit of searching on the matter and came to the conclusion that the Blitz controllers were the ones to go for. They feature dual solenoids for the best boost response. The SBC-iD 3 will fit nicely below the radio, I can't remember what the Colour model does in addition but I realised that these extra features weren't necessary. chrisavila100
81 posts in over 4 years, that must be a record low! Cool i hold the record for something:trophy: I spent a few years working on the cruise ships so only had 2 months a year to enjoy;) my car! so time was best spent driving and not reading:eyebrows: Any way on topic Cheers for the advice, thats exactly why im thinking i will go for it sometime soon! Is the unit straight forward to setup once on the car? And how hard is it to setup the boost to rpm settings? Cheers mate..
adi2009
Arent the HKS EVC range also dual solenoids too? Come one, someone must be using one these units!!!
nige
Blitz SBC-ID3,great boost controller in my opinion cant do much better for the price.
wez_p
i think i'll be going for a dual solenoid for better response when i get round to getting one - i have always liked the display on the Apexi AVC-R but it's a model that's been around for a while now so i guess the newer ones will have some improvements
adi2009
The HKS EVC 6 looks great IMO. But cant find anyone who s used it and given some positive feedback so trying to find some reviews on other forums.

Nic
All good choices adi, I'm using the new EVC VI now, use to have the i-color fitted. The i-color I think is still the best available, as it has so many features (ie. you can add extra sensors to it to read AFR's, temps, pressures) and does an excellant job of controlling boost. It also has full colour screen, graphs, datalogging etc. Whether you actually need or will ever use all these features is a different matter, I didn't. Personally for what it does, I prefer the HKS EVC VI, looks great, has a very clear easy to read screen and controls boost well.

No problem with boost spikes on the HKS, although it was fitted along with my single so not able to say how it would be on stock turbos. HKS is single solenoid I believe. I don't know of any EBC's with car specific harnesses.
SupraJames
I could be wrong but EBC's dont need to be spliced into any looms, the control unit requires a 12v + and -, then the rest is vacuum hose.
