edge
My brother woke up the other morning only to find a clamp on his car in his own driveway. He found a sticker on the window saying it was about the congestion charge. It started when he got a snotty letter with 2 £50 fines and agreed reluctantly to pay them after discussuing the issue with the people incharge who said they will send out the letter minus one fine as they had made a mistake. Then a few weeks later he wakes up to this clamp. So he rang again and had to pay £650 to have the clamp removed so he could goto work. After this he got intouch again and they even admitted they have had the letters sent back undelivered. So he gets fined and agrees to pay. They send him the bill which doesnt get delivered but returned to the congestion people which they admit. He still has to pay £650 to have the clamp removed and is in the legal process now with his solicitor. He said to the guy he was going to cut it off but they said he can if he likes but he will incure another £450 for damage and another £650 again. Scoboblio
Filthy robbing scamming bastards As if the Cnut charge isn't bad enough, they now clamp your car on your OWN driveway? And all because of their own incompetence.... I say play their own game, buy a wheel clamp and go find one of those buses Mr Livingston is so proud of, until he's repaid! ChrisSZ
I'd have cut the bugger off!! If it's on my drive it's on my property and they must have trespassed to put it on!!

terribleturner
I'd go buy a pad lock or some sort of clamp to put on the clamps. Then charge THEM the same for removing them.

Gamer
I love this country more and more each day. They expect you to bend over further and further each time and do not even have the decency to give you a reach around.
Class One
I'm very surprised that they had a warrant to allow access to your brothers property to place a clamp on the car especially for a civil debt.

Wez
Trespassing. We should find there office and clamp all the cars in the car park and charge them £650 a day plus any damages to the clamps

I'd definitely dispute the rights they had to access his property to put the clamp on his car.
JohnA
Alternatively you could be sneaky, just like thieves who spot an empty locked chain waiting for the punter's bike: they fill the keyhole with superglue. Fitting a couple of wheelclamps of your own would also be helpful.
