steb9780
I have noticed that my car has been smoking a bit recently. It's usually when the car comes upto heat and when I come to a stop, after overrun etc. It seems to do it as well after a warm start. It's not doing it all the time though when I come to a stop and after boost, so does that cancel the turbo's out. It does seem more like a stem seal problem doesn't it. Thanks! michael
Sounds like turbo oil seals to me.
Chris Wilson
It's probably the turbo seals, after the decat. They can go on for years like that, I wouldn't worry

They can go on for years like that, I wouldn't worry I know they can last, but it's when you pull up at some lights or something and the blue smoke overtakes you. You get a few strange looks. Yes I did think that the de-cat might have helped it. I might be wrong but does the catalyst back pressure help keep the oil at bay a bit more?? Chris Wilson
Yep, removing the cats backpressure will sometimes show up a worn turbo seal.
