VIL
Typical, you have good and bad news on the same day! Just had the Sup MOT`d......went through like a dream with the only advisory note that the front pads will need changing soon On the bad side, was just about to sign for a new house today at the solicitors and the effin seller calls to say he has had a better offer at the last minute and is pulling out of the deal.....the ******* !!! So lost a load of money on surveyors, solicitors etc!! Hope the rest of the weekend is more good than bad!

DaveK
I had the same situation. I was travelling into work this morning, overtook a lorry on a 60mph road and continued to accelerate. Was flashed several times by a car as I was approaching a bend and slowed down from a.... significant speed to find a police car around the bend. Called my credit card company and discovered they are about to refund the fraudulent transactions on my card. Then heard that the buyers of my house may have trouble selling their flat because their buyers haven't been offered enough by the mortgage company. Whether my weekend is good or bad will depend on : a) The size of my Supra service bill b) Whether it still handles like a shopping trolley
VIL
They have offered another £10K more. To be truthful it was an investment property so I am looking at it with a business head....the house came with potential building land so I know I will only get into a bidding war with a developer if I offer more money and end up paying well over the odds for it! tbourner
Apparently 1 in 10 people are gazumped. We were lucky I think when we bought ours, it's probably less likely to happen to first time buyers though.
Havard
I would have to ask the seller, whether he would get the same offer with all his fooking windows broken?? Thats a cnuts trick. When you agree a deal, that should be the end of it. H.

Charlotte
It doesn't matter if you have, until you've exchanged nothing is legally binding. Bad luck dude.

VIL
Cheers Guys... Yep it was all agreed and I am not joking when I say the paperwork was all drawn up to be signed this afternoon! Everything had been done, all searches, mortgage agreements, valuations/survey the lot.....so not only am I well pissed off that I dont get the house, I also have a wedge of bills to pay for nothing!!! Brilliant!!
tbourner
It's even more absurd than just that as well, my mate got a survey done on a flat, then (can't remember why TBH) didn't go through with it and went for another place - he asked if he could sell or even give the new prospect of the flat his survey report and was told no, the rules say the new bloke HAS to get his own survey done and pay for it!!!! WTF is that about!!!

MARTIN R
well at least the most important thing was positive:d Sorry about the house though, really is crap that you have no rights to complete on a house until the contracts are exchanged and the money is wired.
