Terminator Posted August 7, 2004 Share Posted August 7, 2004 ECU reset is a common thing to do. Most frequent reason is to reset when changing from one fuel to another. Ian C Posted August 9, 2004 Share Posted August 9, 2004 The ECU will slowly relearn, yes, but resetting it forces it to sort things out sharpish. Personally I never bother resetting the ECU for anything. With big injectors and cams the relearning procedure is ugly The procedure is easy, with the ignition off and keys out, take the EFI no1 fuse out with the handy fuse-grabby tool thats (hopefully) in your fuse box. Wait a minute, then jam it back in again. Put the fuse-grabby tool back and put the fuse box lid back on, start the car, let it idle for a bit, give it three mild rev-ups to let it learn how to catch the idle after a liftoff and then drive it for 10 miles or so. In my experience, that sorts out most of the coarse relearning, the rest will come as you tootle through town and boot it up clear roads -Ian Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
