new tv question

Aye sounds like it is on the Panasonic Auto (I have a similar model), I can confirm that sticking it on 16:9 or Cinema as previously stated will work. Damned TV trying to be too smart (usually watching something that has lots of dark edges really confuses it).

Edit: It is the "Aspect" button on the top left of my control here I press a few times to get the aspect desired (square with four small arrows two on the horizontal, two on the vertical).

Yep mate that will be because your screen aspect ratio setting is set on "Panasonic Auto" this makes your tv picture automaticly fit the hole screen so there are no black lines around the picture, every time you change the channel or when your watching a program and the ad breaks come on

the tv re-scans to re set the picture size.

When your watching most things use 16.9 widescreen mode if the program your watching is in normal tv size (4:3) use either 4:3, Panasonic Auto, Just or Zoom modes(for zoom adjust to the right size)

I normaly have mine in 16:9 mode hope that helps :)

Panasonic tv's rule... every one i've ever owned has been top quality and the pic quality is wicked, i'll never buy any other make of tv.

Can anyone explain why when watching the footie on channel 5 on Thursdsay I ended up with a black border arounf the screen? Switched it to Sky and put Channel 5 on through that and the picture was great again?

I also have the Panansonic Viera 37" Plasma!!;)
