Paul your car does look awesome

Referring to the cheapo flamer kits now:

Isn't there a chance that running unburnt fuel through the turbo could cause turbo damage, kind of like anti-lag - i.e. it'll sound awesome, and spool the turbo, but not do it any good, if the fuel happens to get ignited by the hot turbocharger?

Any other negative impacts from cutting spark and just pumping fuel in/out of the cylinders through the valves? Bore wash?

That site mentions that having catalytic convertors in place "will decrease the effectiveness of the flames". It doesn't mention that running neat petrol through the cat might (will?) damage it and cause major heat buildup.

My Westfield used to "flame" sometimes (and pop / bang) I thought it was really cool until it "flamed" at the other (engine) end one day.

After about 30 seconds the whole engine bay was on fire and it finished up with a new bonnet, nose, carbs, battery, wiring etc etc.

I'm a bit more nervous now...:)

The worst bit was stood with a water hose (which was at hand) knowing that if I took the bonnet off it would go up really quick, but not be able to get enough water into the engine bay with the bonnet on !
