garethr
It seems to be difficult to get split-rim alloys refurbished, but CCW (in the land of litigation) are apparently happy to post video DIY guides on their web site so that their customers can dismantle and reassemble their wheels. So what's the big deal about splitting split-rims?

So what's the big deal about splitting split-rims? theres no big deal i done my previous ones. had to get some sealer from my local tyre place to apply on the mating surfaces before putting it all back together. Dnk
Its time consuming to do them if youve got painted centers and polished lips. Also get the correct torque settings for the bolts when you put them back together. If there a proper set and well made they could be dynamically balanced so keep the individual parts of each wheel just for that wheel, dont mix the parts up. Also you dont need to seal the faces just the join in the wheel well where the tyre sits. My 19" 3 piece wheels are being done at the moment so i'll post how they come out. Ric
i would find it a little worrying that the wheels are just held together with the silicone on that vid? the bolts dont seem to hold the wheel together when he takes it apart
