warmup.me.uk
Any one got any ideas how to sort out the noise coming from my hks suspension which dose sound like the top mount but is a real pain i cant drive her now so its beginning to be a pain i have took the front suspension leg off and cant see any problems apart from the shock dosnt seem to return once pushed in is that normal? Does anyone know anywhere i can get spares for HKS suspension or if there are any known faults with HKS adjustable coil overs.
JODY T
by the sounds of it your shocker is knackered... Best buy a new set It should push the rod back out.... The noise is probably the rod slapping about
Wez
Are the HKS shock not able to be serviced, can you get spare parts for them?
Chris Wilson
They are not rebuildable by anyone in the UK for less than decent replacements would cost. It's lost it's gas charge. I may be able to fix that, as I have a nitrogen recharging station here. Has it got a Schraeder valve on the side, at the base? I can GET the hypodermic needle type re gassed, butI need to send those away, as no proper race dampers use that el cheapo method of regassing. Regassing *MAY* fix it, but it;s obviously leaking, so how long a recharge would last is anybodies guess. I'd get them all re gassed if you want to pursue that attack. To be honest they are junk anyway, you'd be better off buying something decent and binning those, IMO. I have now had 2 brand new sets of HKS dampers on the dyno, and both have burst or leaked under little real duress, and both had wildly different settings in real time, with the adjusters set the same. warmup.me.uk
what would you say is a good replacement I know they look good but it dose the same job as the rest they area shock and springs. I would like to have it at the same ride height which is very low lol and the springs are OK but it might just be worth just getting a new set any ideas They are not rebuildable by anyone in the UK for less than decent replacements would cost. warmup.me.uk
what gas can i put in and what pressure while i wait for some new ones to turn up ? Chris Wilson
Nitrogen, you need to see what pressure is int eh "good" ones unless HKS will tell you? They vary enormously, some are high pressure, some low, putting high pressures in low pressure dampers will bugger thwm instantly.

I would like to have it at the same ride height which is very low lol and the springs are OK but it might just be worth just getting a new set any ideas If you want very low you can use anything as the car will handle like a total dog anyway. You need a maximum drop of 25 to 30 mm from stock. Closer to stock the better, IMO. I do a custom valved Bilstein with custom progressive springs at 1250 fitted with the geo reset to suit. I can do adjustable ride height Bilsteins, but these are a LOT dearer and not needed for a road car.
warmup.me.uk
sorry i don't mean silly low just its a looker right now and its just how it was setup in japan. I also need to get a boost controller installed as mine has just died the valve no longer works any idea ? If you want very low you can use anything as the car will handle like a total dog anyway. Or this is a different thing.. ie my boost controller solenoid has broken. If so the choice for boost controllers is huge....
warmup.me.uk
I can fit all the shocks my self i think here and have the car set up but it will need a top mounts as well ? what is the price with out installation ? warmup.me.uk
can you arrange to get the items sent down to m what would the price be? Terminator
I may be wrong, but I don't think Chris sells them without set up. Chris knows more about suspension than any one you are likely to use. Those that have his own design of suspension say it can't be beaten. Anyone can change suspension, it is the setting up that makes all the difference.
