Guest supra166
Hi people, I went over to toyko before x-mas which was awsome, and manage to pick myself up an playstation 3- 60 gb. I will tell you this though they were sold out everywhere and had to look for 7 hours to find one. so i would be very surprised if they meet there uk launch date in march if japan itself is sold out + usa- just what i think anyway. Trying to list it on ebay but they keep taking it off cause sony are on their high horse bout it. Just woundering if anyone had sold one and had an idea of getting round this. Also was woundering if there would be any intrest from anybody on here about it? please pm me if you want more info or to make me an offer! many thanks james
Daston
wow does it 100% work over here? I should be getting a cheque this month (if the bank pull their fingure out) and will deff take it off your hands if you still have it for sale.
Guest supra166
yes they work over here, see these 3rd gen consoles are built more like pc now and the plug at the back is just a 3 pin kettle socket- like you use on your pc, monitor ect. also have looked the power rating stamp which says 110-240 volts. it would be way to much effort for sony to change ps3 just to have 2 different power ratings rather than a range like most electronics stuff. also as far as games go they will not be region locked so uk games will play on it. And ideally you want to have it hooked up to an hd tv in which case it will work with all of them! one of the reason why i m selling it- i don t have an hd t.v

snoot
I have a few mates with PS3's 2 from Japan,1 from the US and they 100% work over here. The only thing different between them is that US console shows more blood and gore, something to do with censorship. They're not region locked for PS3 games but are for PS1 and PS2 games, i think they're region locked for movies too.
Nic
Does the US one play UK DVD's, I thought they were a different DVD region? PS3's are in stock here, but they are still selling at premium prices as stock is limited. The ones here are the Japanese version.
Kookoocachu
You can fiddle with the setting so it will be multiregional, like the codes you use with DVD players, Bluray players can do the same.
Pete
US console shows more blood and gore, something to do with censorship. Is that true? How strange.
snoot
It's true. You can put the same disc in both consoles and the US console shows more blood.
