csa Posted December 15, 2006 Share Posted December 15, 2006 so...bought the car 1½ month ago, and just got i dynoed at 405hp and 500nm at the wheels, wich is not that impressive considering my setup: Boostlogic T67 kit Fuelkit with 1000cc's GReddy 3 row IC piggyback MAP ECU 3" downpipe HKS superdragger 1.3 bar controlled by a bleed valve I suspect that it could do with a remap as the hp curve is spiking quite a lot even though the boostpressure seems stabil. It can't Wez, but I would anticipate a lot of timing as the stock ign map is very aggressive. I suspect, it's either silly rich, it has a boost leak, or there is a more serious problem. Guest Terry S Posted December 15, 2006 Share Posted December 15, 2006 The stock ignition map is very aggressive. I very much doubt any Stand alone cars here run as much advance. I never said it was a prolem, but it will limit the about of boost pressure you can run on pump fuel, whereas with a full stand alone you can back the timing off and run more boost ( I personally prefer less boost more timing on small single cars). In some instances a single car may need to pull a bit of Ign timing ( ask Ian C as he has tested T67 size turbo running a piggy back). That is where the MAP ECU falls down and the E-Manage can be a better prospect. HTH Edit just read Jarretts comments, but they are at odds with what myself and others have found here on UK fuel. maybe it's a JDM Vs US thing on the timing maps, maybe they have better fuel. When Jarrett says the timing map is fine up to 2 bar, I agree, but he is talking about race fuel, not our pump fuel. HTH.again Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Alex Posted December 18, 2006 Share Posted December 18, 2006 It is indeed odd. Wheelspin, Boost Fluctuations and AFR fluctuations are all candidates. The wibble at 3800 is the usual lack of mapping round the sequential change over the stock ECU is trying to do. The wibble at 6000rpm is the really odd bit... Did you find out what AFR's you run? csa Posted December 19, 2006 Author Share Posted December 19, 2006 finally got a reading of the AFR meter...showing approx 14,7 on idle/normal driving, but a wide open throttle it went all the way to the green side but only showing 3 dashes (---) guess thats off the scale? what does that mean?
