bungy
Well I suffered the torment of oil filter replacement today and as such really keen to reposition. How difficult is the job and can anyone recommend a product. Thanks in advance.

silvershark44
I dont get whats so hard?? I can reach in and get it fine, from both engine bay and underneith?
bungy
You must have bendy weasel arms because mine are bruised from reaching in from above. I did have the car up to try and do it from beneath but no easier so battled on from above. Where is the position to relocate the filter to. Dropping the oil was no problem. bungy
I was going to but did not want to stress the pipes and cause more problems by bending them. Is this the way ahead for an easier filter change then and i'm just a bit dim.
bignum
or move the triangle shaped plate underneath, 4 bolts,, easy:)
silvershark44
doing from above you need to remove the battery. Underneith people make the mistake of doing it in the wrong place, you need to go back right under the passenger side of the car and reach forward through, there is a massive gap and very easy. Use a plastic bag to unscrew it and drop it straight into the bag and your done, without spilling any oil! I can see oil filter relocation as being better, however, it really isnt overly nessessary. bungy
Thanks for the advice. I did look underneath to see where to reach in. The plastic bag is a top tip that will save alot of mess in the future. Just got to rag up the spill I already have.

Chris Wilson
It's so easy on a ramp. Why fit a re location kit? Just pay a garage a pittance to change the oil and filter, a decent re location kit will pay for a LOT of oil and filter change labour bills...
