LeeT
Ahh you done the deal with the calibra then.. what you doing with the 1000. ebay? yes mate, i reckon ebay is the best bet. I'm just tidying it up a little before i chuck it on. Not a bad bike actually, it has loads of service history to the point of obsession, wheel bearings and headset bearings just done, stainless downpipes with aftermarket can (although can's not great), Hagon rear shock, fork seals just done, Fairing is very tidy etc. The calibra only owed me £200 so anything over that is a bonus IMO. This bike is probably my favourite looking out of the 600's bar the R6 but that looks like it is going to be a pig to insure for a first bike

GeordieSteve
I've got the bug again after taking a tuned R6 out a couple of weeks back. Only realised today my company provides courtesy vehicles to people after accidents. After 3 year they get rid of them... gonna sweet talk them into selling me an R1 on the cheap

tbourner
LeeT, I looked into GSXR6 and ZX6Rs as first bikes, and pretty much everyone on all bike forums and riders I know said that a CBR600 will be a much easier first bike. Probably not as fast or as capable (track wise) but easier to handle/turn etc.
terribleturner
I had no trouble with the ZXR600 as a first bike, saying that id do remeber going to do a U-turn on a slightly hill very very slowly and nearly dropped the bike Didn't make that mistake twice i can tell you.
