If you have a compass its fairly easy, as long as your clever wife didnt adjust the elevation,, on your compass find 23 degrees east of south and thats the digital astra satellite, you will need somone at the tv to shout when you get it, good look.

1. send the wife up the ladder.

2. get her to move it round untill the picture returns.

3. open up a cold beer.

4. make sure the wife holds it still while you watch the footie.

always happy to help :p

Drape a tea towel over the top half of the dish once you've found the rough area of the satellite. Then fine tune the position until you get the best pic. It's easier to tune in to a degraded signal than a strong one.

Believe it or not, they taught that on the sat install course I went on.

reckon it`s Astra @ 28 deg you need. Best bet is to go into the menu and you`ll find a signal strength in there somewhere, usually has signal and quality bars. Turn the dish very slowly right or left until you see BOTH bars flick up.........check for picture then peak the bars as high as you can

well the first time i did it i didnt know how to get the channels up and ended up calling a guy out to look at it, he said he couldnt get a better signal and that was using a meter to it was perfect and said to the wife that he should give me a job, but this time around it just keeps on jumping some channels are good and some are wank

when i used to align my multi-sat system i always used QVC on 28.2 as it was one of the weaker channels which helped, no point locking a stronger signal.

i can't use multi-sat anymore, receiver died on me a while back, just on a Sky+ now :(

as ivan said, the towel method is a good method to use.
