Bobbeh
Anyone else having them? Had trouble actually getting online yesterday and when I did, after doing some checks, found out I was getting was 200ms ping times and timeouts all over the shop and about 14% packet loss to boot Not happy. I presume some maintenance is going on but just wondered if anyone else had noticed?

sdavies
Intermittent issues appear to be partly down to their transparent web proxies losing their DNS lookup abilities (or something similar) - popping the ip address of various sites into the browser seems to work. Friday night I completely lost my ntl connection from about 10pm-11:30pm. When these web browsing problems occur, my direct connections to work seem to work fine when using ssh and most online gaming seems fine too. Their service status pages mention some ongoing works which could explain a few things (depending on the areas you are in): http://www.ntl-isp.ntl.com/ServiceStatus/ TBH normally the service is fine for me, it is just since late thursday through the weekend it has been hit and miss. Thought it was just my connection playing up... I've not lost the connection at all, but pages time out on refresh from time to time. I'm live only a few roads away from you, so presumably we're on the same exchange. Have you had any page timeout problems?
JustGav
I've noticed slow loading times as well, but I put it down to my web cache here just re-indexing, hmmm, might have to have a look at it as well.

Heya, Oooh, didn't realise you were that close Probably all on the same bits of cabling. I think the loss of connection on Friday night was a power spike scrambling the box at the top of my road for a while (my lights went really bright a few times). Yes, many page timeouts and after a while the problem seems to clear itself. Mad!
ivan
As mentioned above, try putting some other DNS servers in the IP settings of your network card. I've added 193.35.131.194 & 194.152.64.68 as well as the NTL ones and haven't dropped a connection for ages (touch wood).
Homer
Heya, Oooh, didn't realise you were that close Off topic... You know there's 4 club members living within about 800yds of each other? Two are almost on your doorstep! Funny though as I don't think I've met any of you in the 3 years I've been here. I didn't know anyone was so close until I started the members packs lists this weekend and recognised the addresses.

Sounds about right! I have seen at least two other silver Sup's coming out of turnings onto Rushey way and I have seen one pulling in to the Total garage a few times (not to fill up of course ). I try and wave/flash whenever possible I always want to go to various meets but work has been such a demanding wench these last few months something always crops up (yes even on weekends and evenings) WRT Membership pack, feel free to lob one through my door or I can come and collect if it would save some club funds
