Guest jk_supra
is it possible to convert an auto supra to manual? is the 5 speed box on a TT the same as an NA? and how much ruffy would it cost???
Sean1933
it is possible, but your looking at atleast £5K+ to do it as its not as simple to just changing the box...I woulnt attempt it as its just not worth it! Oh and the NA box is not the same as the TT box, which is a 6-speed Getrag.
TLicense
Nah, it can be done for about £3.5K.

Jezz
yep and after i'd sold most of the parts removed then i would say nearer to £500:) Mine was £300 inclusive! Then i sold my auto Lsd and box for £375. So by converting to manual, i made £75. Bargain.

TLicense
very short gears and a speedo that is way out;) I find the gearing to be fine. Slightly better acceleration. The speedo will read 20% out, but that is easily fixed with a yellr box.
Guest magic dr.shoon
So to convert an auto to manual you'd need: Gearbox, drive shaft, clutch master and slave cylinder, pedal box, clutch lines, gear shift surround, center tunnel, clutch, flywheel ecu. Is that about right? or are there things i don't need there, or have a missed something?
TLicense
When you say pedal box, there isn't one as such on the Supra. You need to get the clutch pedal assembly, and you'll also need a brake pedal. You may also want to get a manual rev counter to remove the last remnants of the auto (the PND123R lights). Can't think of anything else. I did do an excel spreadsheet with everything on it. I e-mailed it to a couple of people. If I can find it I'll post it up. Best of luck! I read your thread on completing your conversion (very impressive btw!) would that spreadsheet be for all the stuff you done? It's just that I know I won't be going over the 400 bhp mark. I pretty much just want a standard tt aerotop, but manual! The only thing I might play around with is the interior, I find the standard supra interior rather bland and plastic! RobSheffield
You also need to sort out the Auxillary belt tensioner which is fitted to manual cars only
Guest magic dr.shoon
Would it be feasable to buy two supra's, one tt manual, one tt aero, and swap the parts between the two, then sell the now auto to recoup the cost?
Guest magic dr.shoon
Failing that, how much do you reckon a lhd to rhd conversion would be? **forget that, I just searched and found my answer!! **
