he lost half a flip flop ( coz it was stuck to the floor )

Oh the pain,,Half a flip flop. I had a blow out on my starboard fliP flop once, it was a mess, caused me to drop my wash bag :(

you would be suprised at how much weight a cat can drag around,.

and im pretty sure a cat could drag even a massive boot up a few stairs.

He is right, one of ours drags branches into the house, I'm amazed that she has not ripped the cat flap off in the process/ But if it is ghosts,,,,,

STAY AWAY FROM THE LIGHT

Well, thats that sorted then!!

I am sat here in the house as i was last night just waiting for the next noise. Me thinks a bottle or two of grog will quash these fancyful fleetings of ghouls and ghosties.

Do we know if the yard arm has been breeched yet?

I would only worry if cannon balls start rolling along the deck in the middle of the night

That is pretty weird! spooky! but my only guess is that the cat got playful with your boot and maybe got tangled up in it and paniced (hence the noise) and dragged it upstairs whilst trying to get free... maybe it bumped the DVD player in the process. A long shot but more likely than ghosts and you know what cats can be like...
