can they be changed without removing the head?

i remember in my escort days there was a tool for doing this on a cvh head, just wondering if a simular thing exists for the soop??

i've been talking with another member who has been told that turbo seals should kick out loads of smoke with you nail it, but mine is clear as a bell. It's only when i do a slight bit of engine breaking or boost is in minus figures followed by my foot back on the throttle that it kicks out smoke.

 

can anyone confirm this sounds correct?
