Thorin
Most online casino's have a "play for fun"... or did you mean something that you can play over a local LAN?

Matt H
yup and is a damn site better, but we're spread about Yeah, I would never trust a computer to make a completely random card choose for me out of the pack. I read somewhere that its nearly impossible to make a completely true random choose via a computer system due to there having to be rules for the computer to work and random isn’t a rule its just urmmm... random! Any computer geeks out there want to input?

Any computer geeks out there want to input? Well there are pretty good software random number algorithms but are they truely random over several million results? Our old RNG's were software based but good enough to pass several million fairness tests. We now have a pair of random number generator servers which use a hardware PCI card with some fancy optical switching stuff inside (apparently) for generating the numbers. We don't even have access onto the server in anyway other than polling for numbers over a network port. Of course I reckon they've conned us and it's just a big empty box with an old dos app running the C rand() function.
DamanC
There technicaly not true random numbers, but are as random to true random numbers as random numbers get Almost the real thing hence why they refered as psydo code (sp) Anyway, go play at pokers stars or something then all just join the same table
sdavies
From an age old memory, didn't the US military used to use (possibly still do) an algorithm based on atmospheric interferance to calculate random number seeds for encryption?
