i'll post a list of all the mods this guy did for me, see what you guys think, unfort i we havent had the car on a rolling road yet, so no idea what its putting out.... i dont think its running too sweetly though, def feels like its not getting full potential when i hoof it... ill get the invoice the dude gave me and post all the work he did... prob sometime over the weekend!

lol, yeah the spoiler isnt to everyones taste! sometimes i take it off as i love the line of the supra without the bad boy type spoiler!

 

I dont know to be honest why they picked that ECU, i basically told them i had X to spend, make it as good as you can for that money, although he ran way over budget! Ill post a lsit of the the work that was done sometime over the weekend or early part of next week if i get a chance...

Anyone have any sort of bhp expectations from the above spec? Or anyone have any comments on the setup? :)

Hmmm,

 

Hell of a spec list for a j-spec on stockers.... I would check any paperwork you have, you may well find that it has hybrids, because it seems to have a lot of supporting bits that just wouldn't make sense on ceramic tubbies...

 

Either which way, you have got a strong platform to build up on should you decide to.

hmm, thanks for your advise - i honestly dont know the detail on the turbos, only thing i know is they are now running in paralell - something to do with that ECU not supporting twin turbos

 

Yeah, a strong platform is what we wanted to have, dont want to do a mod now, just to find somewhere down the line i need to replace it! hence the SM4...

Hi Phill,

Didnt get a chance to speak to you down at Cruise control. think your mate was telling me about probelms you were having about the second turbo not coming online??

Also thought the SM4 was seriously overkill for that car, but Simon will fit what ever your pocket stretches too :-(

Were having a meet at the end of the month if you want me to give the car a look over??

 

The banging and popping could also be the Launch Control feature of the SM$ (two step rev limiter based on vehicle speed). which basically cuts Spark at given RPM's which will cause the same effect noise wise as the Anti-lag feature.

Yeah Simons set up launch control which seems to hold revs to around 4k below 5mph, then lets her go.... I don't think this is what im confusing with anti-lag though. When that switch is flicked, the whole engine sounds completely different, almost...dare i say it like a sort of grinding sound as if all vents have been opened full, you can see it spit fuel and fumes out the back when its running like that and it backfires like crazy when you take your foot off power especially around the 3000rpm mark...

 

yeah, oli and i must get to a supra meet soon! havent been to one yet!

 

I think simon fitted the SM4 in the knowlege that we will be changing injectors and putting a big turbo in sometime...

 

I'll post some photos soon, im away at a trade show from first thing tommorow morning until wednesday, so will get some shots up sometime after i get back!

I'l have to dig out the lit on the sm4 Antilag function. It isnt a TTC switch as you no longer run the Stock ECU and the SM4 AFAIK cant minmic the sequential Turbo operation of the Stocker.

So he probably has impl,ement the function...But..As said, I would keep it switched off, Ceramic Ct's wont last to long Phil with it on.
