The pigeon mod...

Its deffo a great noise :) Lots of 200SX folk do it on their UK spec cars as they have a steel turbine bladed T28 turbos. I personally wouldnt want to do this on a j-spec with ceramic turbo wheels. However, you may be able to get away doing this on a UK spec supra with its steel turbo blades.

I havent heard of anyone on the 200sx forum complaining about damaged turbos etc after doing this mod, but they do have steel turbos :) I dont think ceramic will be as capable of handling continous turbo stall. The noise is literally air coming back and hitting the turbo blades.

You may also be able to get the noise by adjusting your aftermarket bovs to only dump on high levels of boost, therefore at medium/low boost the turbo will stall as the bov wont dump and you'll get your pidgeons :)

I'm guessing when my NA-T is done it will sound like this due to the externam WG and dumptube

Nope, you'll get a screamer pipe type noise with that setup.

You only get pidgeons from turbo stall - so run without a bov if you want this noise :)

AFAIK just fitting an external wastegate will not cause turbo stall unless you run without a bov/ or a tightly sprung bov that only opens on high boost...

Erm...No it wont, but i wasnt referring to the pigeon sound made by the turbo surge, all singles or big twins that run external wastegates can acheive a similar sound (which is even louder) when the wastegate dumps boost.

i should have made this clear:)
