absz Posted August 22, 2006 Share Posted August 22, 2006 i got done few weeks back was driving away from the camera van and they got me from behind 39mph in a 30 zone (dual carrageway) i was under the impression that they can only get you if the cars coming toward them but you live and learn. AdzC Posted August 23, 2006 Share Posted August 23, 2006 They are in essence a video recorder (with a laser on it) in the back of a van. So they can get vehicles in either direction but can only target one vehicle at a time. They primarily target oncoming traffic as the driver can be zoomed in on and recorded preventing people denying that they were driving at court. silvershark44 Posted August 23, 2006 Share Posted August 23, 2006 I was overtaking a slow moing vehicle in my old del sol one day in a 30mph When i passed him and pulled in i was doing in excess of 50mph, then saw the camera van up ahead about 50 yards down the road. Never got caught, you have to be realy close to them to get caught, like the same distance as you need to be near a speed camera dont worry!!
