Insurance question

So here's the rub.

I have currently got insurance on my Celica and will shortly have my NCB (5 years) used to insure a new Supra I have acquired. I am seriously looking to buy something nicer than the Celica (possibly a Soarer) that could be used as a daily driver but do not know of any insurance company that will allow a third car. So, I see my options thus:

1. Swap the Celica insurance for the new daily driver and get rid of the Celica.

2. Get the Celica properly cleaned and have the front bumper sprayed and use that as the daily driver.

What thinks you? Any other options?

I would ditch the celiva for a soarer or aristo mate if it was my problem.

I guess it depends which you would prefer to drive regularly - or bring the daewoo back from the dead ;)

I am erring towards that too my friend - the Soarer that is not the Daewoo! :D

In saying that, the Celica is a superb drive albeit very underpowered due to the auto box. A good clean and a bumper spray would see a very nice looking, economical run around.

Decisions, decisions :(

Ditch the celica and get a Soarer or an Aristo. To be honest you might find the Aristo is a bit better in that it has quite a bit more room in the back for passengers and also the boot is bigger.

Celica is a girly car. :D

I am erring more towards this. Unfortunately, I dont know of many cheap Aristo's out there.

Well, seeing as you have met me, you will know that it suits my persona perfectly  :D

I would say keep the Celica for your daily driver, but then again I dont know how many people in total would regularly be using it. If there was just yourself and one other person then keep the Celica, if there is more then go for the Aristo/Soarer option.

One other thing, you know the history of the Celica, whats to say that you buy a pup, it could be even more expense.

Ditch the celica and get another shogan daily driver. (I remember you saying you had them before and liked them;) )

As much as I like them, it would not be practical to journey 150 miles a day with me paying the fuel! :(

i would have thought the 2.5 twin turbo would be a bit better but Gamer would be the best one to answer that

The last thing I was worried about was being economical. I honestly never once tried to see how far a tank would take me because I would go and spoil it by putting my foot down. :D

im the same, sports cars and economical don't really mix. I bought a shitty old 2.0L calibra for my runabout.

ANOTHER Supra:)

Whats this one like?

Thats the one I was thinking of Geoff. TBH, it looks as if I will be offered a new position with a company based at Havant and havent yet seen the overall package. If it includes mileage to and from the office then no problem, if not then it becomes more problematic.

As for the Supra, well I currently have 3! :D I have a 6 speed that is just about finished and will become my next car. I also have a facelift NA in the bodyshop and yesterday bought the 6 speed project car that doesn't need too much to do to it.

For a while, I commuted 85 miles each way in my Soarer TT (home is about 7 miles from M4 J18, work is Thames Valley Park off J10, so it's mostly motorway/dual carriageway). I reckon it averaged about 21/22 to the gallon of BP Ultimate. I can't imagine the Aristo TT would be much different, given that the GS300 I'm using at the moment is doing 26/27.

I look forward to seeing it then :D

Knowing you Col, I'm sure it'll be something a bit special ;)

As it happens Geoff, this one will be a "normal" car. I am looking to start to build the "special" one in a month or two and then sell the normal one. ;)
