Matt B
Experts...... Please could you tell me which aftermarket ECU's will run the Auto box properly on the Soop? I am looking forward down my upgrade path and am not sure which ECU's are available to me and which ones if any are the best to go for. Any advice is greatly appriciated. mawby
I have a TOM's replacement ECU. Don't have problems with it, don't know much about it either!
Sharpie
HKS F-con V pro can be used as a stand alone unit OR piggyback. However, you do not hear much info of this unit or of many users. TDI offer it. HTH

Wez
The standard ECU does some fancy stuff to reduce power between gear changes to protect the gearboxes life, the AEM does not have this same functionality yet nor as far as I am aware does any other aftermarket ECU, yet!!!!! There are a number of posts regarding this on the AEM forum. Kind Regards Wes EDIT: just to add that the AEM does control the auto box just not with the same finesse. Supraguy
I've got the Blitz Access ECU. As far as I know, it keeps the functionality of the stock, but advances timing, removes Speed Limiter, boosts higher, and adds more fuel.
Wez
If I remember correctly the following are stock ECU`s with daughter boards fitted inside with new fuel maps, rev limits and ign timing :- * Mines * TOMS * Blitz

As the supra can't be chipped as such.
Matt B
Thanks guys. As I thought, there is no specific ECU to control the auto box correctly. Does anyone know how forcefull the changes become with an AEM ECU and how much this will shorten the boxes life for? Cheers
dude
I believe there is a Map that incorporates the Auto bit of the equation for the AEM !!!!! Dude:flame Dev
Wez
Hey Dude, I just done some searching and it does indeed look like the AEM now supports shift retard on the auto box, for people looking on how to setup this feature look at this thread :- http://forum.aempower.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=1208&highlight=auto+life

Bit pricey when you can fit your own fuel cut etc for less than 150.

Guest Terry S
TBH I would piggy Back an Autronic SMC to an auto. If anyone want the new Auto map for an aem I have it. You would still need to map the ign & fuelling though.
