HKS EVC - Fault ? Or setup issue ?

One of the reasons we had to abort the higher boost tuning on my car was that the EVC boost controller was under reporting boost, and Gary at gt-art said that there was a fault on it. So it was sent back to Trial, they have returned it and it's the same. These two pics were taken with the engine off:

(Apologies for the blurring, but had to turn the flash off)

What I was told was that the throttle position is showing at 100% all the time (top left of the EVC), and this is wrong but couldn't be cured by a reset.

Also, even when off the boost flutters between 0.00 and 34mmHg (pic 2) and the revs flutters between 00 and 33000rpm.

When driving, the throttle position stays at 100%, and the revs is usually at 15000rpm. (I wish :D )

I'm starting to think a visit to Mr. Harwood is the way forward on the electrical gremlins, but wondered if the above is likely to be a fault with the EVC ? Or a setup issue ? Or a wiring issue ? The wiring side gt-art have recently done.

Cheers

It is a very old boost controller and probably has a fault (I had a IV expire after just a couple of years).

How about a brand new Blitz i-color to go with the rest of your colourful car :) I'm organising a group buy at the moment see here:

Well this is weird. My boost gauge was knackered as per this thread http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=75134&highlight=boost+gauge. Kept my eye on ebay and eventually found a second hand boost gauge exactly the same. Won the auction, fitted the boost gauge and voila ! the boost gauge is working fine.

Thing is, now the boost controller seems to be working  The rpms go up and down, the boost controller is reading the same as the gauge. Oh well.

Met up with Mr. Harwood at JAE and had a chat, agreed to pop down there to check this out and I think I still will - peace of mind and all that. Tis strange that it's now working.
