exhaust idea

This is just an idea, please dont flame me! any comments welcome.

I'm trying to choose a new exhaust to replace my dragger and am thinking more of a NUR. But, there is always that option of wanting something a bit different to others.

On my Impreza i had an exhaust called a Vortex Afterburner...

They did the design in an angled exit and also straight, i had the angled as i thought it looked better and it was supposed to give better performance due to straighter pipes. It also had spiral baffles inside the silencer to aid getting the gases out quicker. See second advert down.

This exhaust is made by Hayward & Scott. I was thinking if it would be possible to fit this to the Supra and get H & S to custom make the piping to join the end of my second decat.

It souded awesome on the scooby and might be something a bit different. I've contacted H & S and they said they can do it for around 450 -500 quid.

Am i losing it and should i stick with a trusted brand designed for the Supe?

Yeah got to think about the R&D behind the off the shelf exhausts, Gas flow etc..

I bought a Longlife custom one for a Calibra years back, it sounded horrible/raspy and actually made the car slower than the stock one... Total waste of £500..... :(

You should be able to get the nur spec for that money if you speak to one of the traders on here, I got one and fitted it a few weeks ago you won't be disappointed :D

One of my future projects is to make a dual exit exhaust exiting above the wheelarches. Similar position as F430 air intakes.

Make sure you dont lean on the car or touch it after a run ;)

Nice idea.. strange but nice.. Enjoy keeping the paint clean :)
