andrew7
TT Can't see the diagram mate.... You seem to have covered just about everything. BTW did you try different spark plugs when you did the spark test? Otherwise, I can only think that it has to be a dry joint situation which breaks down under load from the primary windings of the coil packs. Do you have anyone you can borrow an igniter from? And if that turns out not to be the problem, an ECU? Wot a bugger of a problem, sounds like everyone's worst nightmare... PS hate to state the obvious, but your battery voltage is still high after all the messing around?........
absz
i was only kidding about the reward:) . hope you get it sorted, i've got a day off on saturday if its not running by then i'll pop up and have a look at it.
absz
just a quick one, have you checked the crank sensor output while cranking the engine? incase there's a fault with the gear on the crankshaft.

Don't think it's the sensors Abs. TT is getting voltage at the coil pack connectors but no spark from the plugs. If the sensors were fkd then the car wouldn't start, but in a test scenario, with any voltage at the connector, timing would not matter to get a spark from the coil packs....they would spark, but at the wrong time (hope that makes sense!! )
andrew7
Dunno whether this will help your thought process TT, but check out this webpage: http://www.aa1car.com/library/2004/us20406.htm
terribleturner
Will have to sit and have a good read of that link. Have tried 3/4 different ignitor packs from other cars and 4/5 ECU's from other cars too. Several plugs have been used and have now got a brand new battery on the car. Can't remember if we're tried the crank sensor output when cranking the car. The reward is there if you find the problem Abs or if anyone else is up for the challange.
