I went about 8 year ago now when it was just taking off. It was crazy then and every single bar you went to wanted you to dance on the bars and drink fishbowls full of cheap mix up's. IIRC there aint many clubs, there small and its mainly bars open late. The pubs are better to stay in anyway. Chances are its probably changed alot since I was there though.

I went in August and it was boiling, hottest place I've ever been. My mate also done in 2 local bouncers and booted out a taxi drivers headlights/front grill and couldnt go out for the last 4 nights. We were warned the local "mafia" were after him lol!

EDIT:

All the best pubs were on a main street that was open late with loads of shops and stalls at the bottom end. Oh and I remember 2 clubs, one in a church/cathedral renovation and "Underground". Someone tell me if its changed much....!?

It's where they filmed Greece uncovered isn't it?

We're off to Lindos in September and so far haven't heard a bad word about it, really looking forward to going - apart from the whole sanitary situation which I hate about all of Greece.

We were just south from Lindos which was more beachy. Lindos beach is a little small for the resort and can be a good walk due to the steep slope that Lindos is on. There's loads of very nice bars/tavernas - I'll try to remember one we went to which was quite ala carte - but REALLY nice for a treat. It's a bit more older and family oriented thankfully.

Chucking your used tissue in a bin is fine once you're used to it. Some people really have issues with it though which I find odd.

What? you like have a bag full of human excrement lying around the place..?!

We went to Corfu a few years ago and I vowed never to return to Greece after the whole 'not having proper toilets thing'.... it's horrible! mind Corfu was pretty nasty as well... or Sardari at least... awful place.. hope Lindos is better...

We're going with a group of friends who were all there last year as a couple of them got married in a little chapel on the beach, looked lush. Not sure whereabouts we're staying but I think it's just a few minutes walk from the beach (there is two sections isn't there?) We've seen pictures and it looks lovely.

Used tissue/bin situation is fine, IF you don't have a traumatic experience. When we went to Corfu the place we were staying were supposed to empty our bins and they didn't. Got quite grim (although we did take nappy bags). We ended up emptying them ourselves and sticking a black bag outside the apartment, which again they didn't take away! Bit of a nightmare, so i'm hoping things will be different.

lol - If you find your bog bin getting full - EMPTY IT!

The longer you leave it the worse it is, at Kevs house we obviously had to do this ourselves and as long as the bags aren't full it's an easy pick up and tie up without mess and touching anything....and I had the shits one day too.

They had a commual industrial style bin down the road where all household rubbish bags are put.
